Welcome to Europe
From 2024, the ETIAS Visa Waiver is going to be the key part of your European travel. ETIAS authorization will be required for UK citizens and other visa-exempt nationals to travel to Spain and other Schengen Area countries. Your ETIAS authorization will be valid for three year after it is approved.
As of today, nationals of 59 countries worldwide enjoy visa-free travel with the EU. The citizens of these countries will not need to apply for a traveler visa to visit Schengen Area, since ETIAS authorisation will be completely enough.
ETIAS authorisation does not permit a visitor to stay in France for more than 90 days. If you wish to stay longer, or if you’re planning to work or study in France, you’ll need to apply for a relevant visa.
ETIAS authorisation is required for minors and children too. The application must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.
Keep in mind that since Brexit, the UK is no longer part of the European Union. As a visa-exempt country, travellers from the UK will need to submit an ETIAS application. Here’s a full list of the 59 countries whose citizens will need to follow ETIAS requirements to travel to France:
The ETIAS application process is simple and straightforward. The application will be completed in 20 minutes and all documentation submitted within that time.
First, fill out the online questionnaire. This questionnaire will ask you questions about your personal information, travel history, medical history, education, and work background.
Next, you’ll need to submit the first page for your biometric passport. This type of travel document has an embedded chip that stores your personal information. Biometric passports first appeared in 2010. If your travel document was issued prior to that date, you will need a new passport to apply for ETIAS authorisation.
After you submit your feedback, you will receive it within a few hours. If you have additional questions, an ETIAS officer may request additional documentation.
ETIAS doesn’t require much documentation. It will only request a valid passport at the initial stage of application process. The valid passport should feature the following criteria:
Additional supporting documents may be required if the system finds that your information is not sufficient. An email list with the required documents will be sent to your specified email address.
You might be asked to participate in an online interview if additional documentation is not enough to verify the legitimacy or validity of the provided information.
